NHS Tayside: Emergency department videos

Create videos which welcome patients, inform patients about how the department works and informs patients about other NHS services

The workload was split evenly. I took on the welcome video, Callum made the department video and we collaborated on the final NHS service video. Our research phase, development phase, script writing was done together as well as attending meetings at Ninewells hospital with the head of department.

Our research phase consisted of interviewing all the emergency department staff with questions regarding the department, what information they thought was most important for the public to know. We then asked questions to patients in the waiting room to get a better understanding of what it was like on the other end of the department. Combining the information gathered, we made sure every point discussed was covered in the videos. We also conducted online surveys and made a suggestion box which stayed in the department for 2 weeks.
